Politics: Before, During & Beyond … Politics With Dr Jeff Bridoux & Robin Lovatt From Aberystwyth University, Joined By Iasson Chryssikos (Alumnus)

20th May 2021 @ 17:00 - 18:00

We are delighted to present the Before, During and Beyond … series from Aberystwyth University in which each event focuses on a particular subject area to introduce the decisions that need to be made before choosing a degree course, the study period itself and how University alumni have succeeded beyond studying the course.

Before, During & Beyond … Politics will be led by Dr Jeff Bridoux, Lecturer in International Politics, Robin Lovatt, Student Recruitment Officer, and Iasson Chryssikos (Department of International Politics Alumnus) – Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the WTO and EFTA.

The field of Politics and International Relations is in constant motion. There are no right or wrong answers when it comes to understanding how political systems and societies work or when observing how international actors interact.

The study of Politics and International Relations provides excellent career opportunities in the civil service, international organisations, non-governmental organisations, and in the private sector.

By attending, you will gain some invaluable insights to help on your journey to securing a place at a high-quality UK department of Politics and International Relations. This webinar will:

  • Provide application advice that will help you throughout Year 12 and Year 13 which may improve your chances of securing a place on your preferred Politics and International Relations related course
  • Give you a flavour of what a Politics and International relations degree can offer you, from course content to the varied career progression routes available.
  • Provide insights from Aberystwyth University’s Department of International relations  alumni (ex-student)
  • Discuss how they have maximised the opportunities provided by the Department of International Politics

If you are considering a Politics and International Relations related degree, this event is designed to help you make the best decision on where to invest in your future…

This is a great chance for Year 11, 12 & 13 students (and equivalent) to hear about how to prepare to study undergraduate courses, the graduates’ university experience, and how this has prepared them for their current roles.

There will be lots of opportunities to ask questions and to find out about the decisions the university alumni have made also.

The format is accessible, friendly, informative and participative.
